Disability Sport Adviser Position

We are looking for an experienced team player who has the skills and passion to be able to drive positive engagement in the Auckland Region. The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation is an iconic charitable organisation, founded by Olympian Sir Murray Halberg in 1963, which aims to enhance the lives of physically disabled New Zealanders by enabling them to participate in sport and recreation.

This role will work in the community to identify opportunities to engage in sport and recreation for young physically disabled Aucklanders. You will be a deliverer of the various Halberg programmes and need to ensure that there are strong relationships throughout the various stakeholders within the community so that your delivery is effective and has positive outcomes for young physically disabled Aucklanders.

You will use your skills to collaborate within the sector and with partner organisations; identify gaps and develop new delivery programmes. You will need to be able to create, develop and maintain positive, sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations. You will enjoy being an effective and engaging communicator and presenter.

This is an exciting and busy role so we are looking for someone who can deliver in a fast-paced environment, where using your initiative is encouraged and being an effective operator is tantamount to success.

This is a great role for someone who has a strong background and at least three to five years’ experience within the health, sport or education sectors. We are looking for that candidate who can show us their energy and enthusiasm. This is a full-time role based in Ellerslie, Auckland and requires someone with a full driver’s licence.
